HHRFC Junior Chairman Introduction

Welcome to the Haywards Heath RFC Junior Section.

The Junior section of the Club receives players as they leave the Mini section following their season at U12. This move will see the boys experience 15-a-side rugby on a full size pitch, for the very first time. The Junior section runs squads at U13, U14, U15, and U16.

All sessions are managed by coaches who are RFU qualified and CRB checked & approved. Coaching input is sourced from a range of rugby playing & rugby coaching experience. This includes:

  • established age group coaches
  • current senior HHRFC players, including overseas players
  • Sussex RFU Coaches
  • RFU Community Rugby Coaches
  • ...and, occasionally, former internationals

Training takes place on Sundays at HHRFC, Whitemans Green, starting at 11.00. All squads play in their respective Sussex Leagues with an additional programme of friendlies against other Sussex clubs and out-of-county opposition. This structure provides competitive rugby for players of all standards & experience.

New players are always welcome regardless of their playing experience. For those looking to play for the first time, or are revisiting rugby after a break, a dedicated training programme can be delivered to ensure every ‘new’ player receives the support he deserves before integrating with the rest of the squad.

To learn more about your age group, in the first instance, please contact the Lead Coach listed here on the web site. However, as Junior Chairman I am happy to receive communication direct from any player, parent or guardian if I can offer any guidance or assistance.

I look forward to welcoming you to the Club.
