Haywards Heath RFC Under 8s and Under 9s travelled to Twickenham Festival on Sunday where they played teams from Twickenham, Harlequins, Chiswick, Teddington and Ruislip.

The U8s signed-off on three years' of tag rugby with dominant performances over four of the five teams they faced - only Quins proved too hard to beat. The team were congratulated by one of Chiswick's coaches, who felt the Heath boys had played some of the best tag rugby of the festival. Next season this talented squad move on to contact rugby.

The U9s finished the season with an unbeaten run and the boys and girls used their newly- acquired contact skills to great effect with some outstanding performances. The highlight was a victory against Harlequins where the score stood locked at one try all at half time, but a dominant second half performance saw Heath run out eventual 5-2 winners.

Next weekend all Heath mini and junior squads travel to Devon for the annual Club tour, finishing off a successful and fun season in style before the Club Awards Day on Sunday 12 May. Anyone wanting to join mini or junior rugby next season should contact rugby@hhrfc.co.uk – the Club welcomes new members of all ages at any time.
