Both Heath minis and juniors are enjoying success early in the season...

For Heath minis, Heath Under 10s travelled to the Guildford Festival in hope of a fun morning of rugby rather than in the expectation of winning. However the whole squad performed out of their skin, running out winners in four games and conceding only three tries overall. The squad was by far the best drilled, most disciplined, strongest in the tackle and the most adept with the ball in hand, managing their on pitch position and taking all scoring opportunities in the corners. A great result for a young squad developing their individual rugby skills and learning to play effectively as a team.

Employing the skills of the Heath juniors to good effect, Heath Under 14s were dominant against Pulborough, running out 0-86 victors in their first waterfall match of the season.
13 unanswered tries and a try awarded as a penalty were complemented by eight conversions. Continued recycling by the forwards in open play and winning scrums against the head provided the Heath U14s back division with quick ball, which they took full advantage of with Pulborough conceding seven tries in each half.

In addition, the Heath U15As won away at Heathfield 67-0 and the Heath U15 Development squad won 24-10 at home against a strong Eastbourne A side – both recording strong performances in their respective first league fixtures. Heath U16s travelled away to play a friendly against the Old Reigatians where they added to a successful day for the Club winning by six tries to four.

It’s clear that Heath juniors, supported by California Raisins, and Heath minis, supported by The Orchards, are starting the new rugby season in style. New youth and colts players aged from Under 6 to Under 18 are welcome at any time, email rugby@hhrfc.co.uk for more information.
