Copy of parents/players communication sent out by the coaching team.

U13’s HHRFC
Purpose of this document:
We are entering the next phase of the boy’s rugby career, moving to a full size pitch and one-off 50-minute games (as opposed to festivals). This is happening whilst the boys are maturing into young men. As such, we have overhauled our coaching approach for the coming season and wanted to share our thinking with you and seek your support. We sincerely want you to share these goals and beliefs with us and urge you to read this document and discuss any areas of difference or concerns you may have with Mark Newey
Our goals for the season:
1. To operate two squads and to give every squad member as much game time as possible. Each player’s performance and the standard of the opposition will dictate selection of the respective A and B teams.
2. To rotate players positions throughout the season to expand depth and experience of squads and to enable players to understand different roles and to appreciate the importance these roles have in the game.
3. To continue to instil rugby’s core values: teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.
4. To prepare and develop squad members for the opportunity to play representative rugby.
5. To be League and Sussex Champions.
Our expectations of the Boys:
1. To actively engage with the coaches during training, aiming to arrive at solutions together. Talking to each other ON THE PITCH is essential.
2. To work at home and at school on their personal areas of development to become a better player.
3. For the more experienced players to lead by example and to mentor teammates.
4. To attend every league game dressed in school trousers, black shoes, white shirt (tucked in) and club tie. This is to be worn both before and after the game. You are representing HHRFC please ensure that everything you do at rugby reflects positively on the age group and the club.
Our expectations of the Parents
1. To discuss any concerns with us as soon as possible. We take your feedback very seriously.
2. To provide the coaching team with your child’s availability at the earliest opportunity.
3. To encourage your child to attend as many of the training sessions and games as possible.
What you can expect from us:
1. To work with your child to develop their rugby playing ability to make them the best rugby player they can possibly be.
2. We will dedicate equal time, effort and encouragement to all children, regardless of their ability.
3. To provide you with honest and constructive feedback on your child, wherever possible.
