w/e 11-09-10 Town Day arrangements. 2nd hand kit donations. Mid Week training. Open Day this Sunday + promotion please!

HHRFC Mini’s weekly update for players, coaches and parents.
Week ending Saturday 11th September.
Fantastic to see so many old and new faces last Sunday – everything went to plan and everybody had a smile on their face I hope. Thank you to everyone that has completed their paperwork and paid up it makes the role of admin/management so much easier, if you haven’t submitted at least the consent form it’s available from the club website www.hhrfc.co.uk
Town Day – Saturday 11th @ Victoria Park, for those that are able to attend and support this event it’s great way to promote the best family club in Sussex. If players could present themselves at 12:30pm at the skate park (outside the fenced ½ pipe) – we’re due on at 13:15 and the display will last until 13:45 – 14:00 there is a small car park adjacent to the park and to the side of Iceland. It’s likely to very busy so please ensure you car share.
Ball boys for 1st XV vs. Chichester KO 3pm - The 1st XV have their first home fixture on Saturday at Whitemans Green – always a well attended family event and we need four ball boys (U10’s traditional cover this role) but 5 of them are helping with the Town day activities earlier in the afternoon and need a bit of support please. If anyone would like to help contact Martin Cleary 077 205 944 09 ASAP
2nd Hand Kit – Clare Christian the U10 manager will be collecting any unwanted HHRFC kit. If you have any clean, usable kit you no longer need, please could you bring it to the Club House this Sunday (12th) - Clare will be there to collect it. If you would rather drop it in to Clare this week, please email her on clare@onesixsix.com to arrange. There will be a range of kit available the following week 19th September from only £1 so please come along. All proceeds go to the Club so we would be very grateful for any donations.
Mid Week Training Wednesday evenings – 5:30 – 6:30pm ATP pitch Downlands Schools, Hassocks. Reasonably well attended with 12 x U12’s and 14 x U7-U9. If we wish to retain this facility we need ensure it’s a valuable use of our funds for as many as possible – I realise it’s prohibitively early for many parents and being located that much further south doesn’t help. However, we’re investigating the new ATP at Oathall when that becomes available. I’d welcome any support from parents and coaches that can attend on an ad hoc basis to help out.
Open Days – promotion at local schools. The next three Sundays are open days for the club and we need a steady flow of children to maintain squad levels – I’d like to think we’re all proud to part of the HHRFC team. Please promote to all local schools, ask if your child could make a poster, stand up in assembly/tutor to talk to his school friends. Networking at the school gate and inside schools – the government is extremely keen to promote the 3 hours of physical activity for all school pupils. If you live outside the HHRFC catchment i.e. Burgess Hill/Lewes/Crawley you might need to consider other local clubs – they don’t like poaching!
Thanks again for reading – see you Sunday.
