Special 10% donation to the Clubhouse Fund on all orders from South Downs Cellars...

Last Friday 75 ladies attended a wine tasting quiz evening at the HHRFC Clubhouse - the all-female audience certainly made Giles from South Downs Cellars, the wine expert host of the evening - feel rather nervous.

Tasting five different wines throughout the course of the evening, teams of 10 on each table had to work out which country the wine was from, type of grapes, % alcohol and what tasting description they would give to each wine before swopping papers with another team for marking. The winning team won a mini bottle of prosecco and a very impressive certificate each!

The evening included a fabulous raffle with lots of great donations from club members and local businesses up for grabs for the winning ticket holders. Prizes included generous donations from local Cuckfield businesses - a £50 voucher from The Talbot, £50 voucher from JoJo boutique, a wine and food hamper, set of Lego, wine, spirits, bubbly and signed Jamie Oliver books, to name but a few.

In addition to hosting the event, South Downs Cellars stocked a wine bar for the evening and due to the generosity (and drinking prowess) of those present over £2,200 was raised for the HHRFC new Clubhouse Project. The Club is committed to raising the funds needed to build a new Clubhouse at Whitemans Green and these fund raising events all contribute to making the dream of a new Clubhouse a little closer to reality – with the added bonus of fun along the way!

Orders of the wines tasted on the evening can be made using the order form below - whether you attended the event or not a special 10% donation of the value of all orders will be made to the Clubhouse Fund.

Many thanks to Sarah Galbraith Gibbons, Emma Roberts, Nicky Vander and Annie Tranter for organising this fantastically successful event.
