New Clubhouse tax reliefs from HMRC:
BUY A BRICK
A £4,500 donation is worth £12,500 to HHRFC
HMRC has granted HHRFC's clubhouse build two valuable tax reliefs for individual members:
Social Investment Tax Relief ("SITR") and Gift Aid.
Used together, a higher-rate taxpayer's donation is worth an additional 250% in our hands.
This is how it works: A higher-rate taxpaying member loans £10,000 to HHRFC for three years to fund the clubhouse build. They immediately get 30% tax rebate in the year. After three years they Gift Aid the £10,000 ‘loan’ to HHRFC. They receive a further £2,500 tax relief and HHRFC gets an additional £2,500 from HMRC.
£10,000 donation made in this way costs a member:
£10,000 less £3,000 less £2,500 = £4,500
HHRFC receives £10,000 plus £2,500 = £12,500
The same formula works for other £ amounts
