The club is sad to pass on the news that David Maconachie has passed away.

For many years David was responsible for coordinating the appointment of referees in Sussex. Although many of you will not have known David - if you have played rugby in this county then you will have had referees appointed thanks to David's hard work.

David often managed to find referees from nowhere and was refereeing himself into his 70s.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
