Heath Under 7s squad played five very tough games against strong opposition on Sunday and emerged undefeated.

From the off they gave absolutely 110% effort with a phenomenal work rate, going for every tag and every opportunity that was presented to them. By the time they reached the last couple of games, having lost one player to a sprained ankle, they were starting to flag but dug deep and found a way to keep going. Their persistence paid off with some great results against some of Surrey’s finest mini and junior clubs:

Heath won against
Chipstead 7-4
Sutton and Epsom 10-5
Cobham 8-6
Heath drew against
Effingham and Leatherhead 8-8
Reeds (Weybridge) 5-5.

The end result was that, having not lost a game all day, Heath Under 7s ended up overall runners up to the home team Effingham & Leatherhead RFC and were winners of the plate competition. The squad will be concentrating on keeping play away from touch and staying onside at key moments over the next few weeks, but in terms of discipline, the Heath boys kept to the spirit and letter of the tagging law and can be enormously proud of their achievement.
