After a delayed start to the season, the Heath Hellhounds had a fantastic first outing of the season on a sunny Saturday away at Old Reigation. The game started with real intensity, it was evenly matched with strong tackles coming in from both sides. Heath had three debutants, Rosie Burke at prop, Macy Lawes at open side and fellow backrower Izzy Altendorf. Heath gradually broke down ORs and gained the ascendancy. Strong carrying from the forwards set up a first try for the Hellhounds new fly half Lizzie Bourne. This was quickly followed by tries from Elle Davey after a strong running performance left her with 4 for the match. Captain and No 8 Nicky Carey also went over from close range and debutant Macy Lawes scored from 65yards out showing pace and power. The pick of the tries was a well worked team try that saw the move start from inside the Heath half, it went through the hands with the whole back line handling the ball finished in the left hand corner by winger Liv Hibbert. Final Score 5-59 to Heath.
The Hellhounds look forward with excitement but also grit and determination as they approach their inaugural league fixture in RFC National Championship 3 South East. Come and support them at HOME vs Crowborough 2pm KO. All support welcome.
