Haywards Heath RFC is delighted to announce that our Girls’ U12, U14 and U16 squads have been named finalists in the More Radio Child of Sussex 2026 – Sporting Team Award. This recognition shines a spotlight on a remarkable group of young athletes whose passion, resilience and commitment have helped grow girls’ rugby at our club into something truly special.

Over the past season, the HHRFC girls’ section has gone from strength to strength. Numbers have grown, friendships have deepened, and the rugby has been outstanding — but what sets this group apart is the way they embody the values at the heart of our club: teamwork, dedication, respect and pride.

From early‑morning training sessions to muddy Sunday fixtures across Sussex, these players have shown what it means to support one another, push themselves, and represent Haywards Heath with heart. Their coaches, volunteers and families have been right there with them, creating an environment where girls’ rugby can thrive.

Being named finalists for such a prestigious county‑wide award is a testament not only to their performances on the pitch, but to the spirit they bring to the game and the example they set for younger players coming through.

The winners will be announced at the Child of Sussex Awards Night on Friday 26 June 2026, streamed live on the More Radio website. Whatever the result, we could not be prouder of this incredible group of players and the journey they are on.
