Last weekend saw Haywards Heath Rugby Club buzzing with energy as over 650 young players from across Sussex came together for a fantastic day of grassroots rugby.
Teams from Ditchling, Crawley, Hove, Burgess Hill, Worthing, Pulborough, Uckfield, Crowborough, Heathfield & Waldron, Lewes and Seaford all took to the field, alongside a brilliant early showcase from the youngest stars of the day — the HHRFC Dinos (Under 6s).
With the sun shining and the pitches full of action, the festival was a celebration not just of rugby, but of community. The event was made possible by a dedicated crew of coaches, team managers, and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the day run smoothly.
A special thank you goes to Bryony Sinclair, who steps down this season as Minis Fixture Secretary. Bryony’s hard work and commitment have been at the heart of events like this, and her contribution to the club’s minis section has been truly invaluable.
Events like this show that grassroots rugby is about more than just the game - it’s about friendships, teamwork and the power of sport to bring communities together.
