Heath V Heathfield 5/11/17

A formidable start for Heath who began by dominating the big, strong Heathfield side. Two quick tries relaxed the team but Heathfield soon geared up to full momentum and started applying the pressure felt right to the end. A terrific match for the spectators with end to end rugby and great individual tries scored by both sides unfortunately resulted in Heathfield earning the win in the last quarter.

Straight out of the traps and the forwards push up with Daniel Grant and Bobby Collins powerfully delivering over the try line. A killer tackle from Barney Scott slows down the opposition but they soon start retaliating with their fast backs attacking Heath out wide.

In the second half William Goodwin makes his presence felt and impacts the scoreline yet again, with a try and a conversion. The boys defend the score at 19-19 for some time before the killer blows are finally delivered from Heathfield and the game is lost.

Coaches summary is that we need to work hard on pressing our defensive line up quickly and being more positive in our tackling. Supporting team mates in the contact area, always sticking to the game plan and most importantly, keep hold of the ball.

Special thanks to our referee, Steve May of Hurstpierpoint College, who controlled the game well and played the advantage rule superbly enabling both sides to play a lot of rugby on the day.
