The U9 Vikings are excited to welcome both returning and new players for the upcoming season, with Danny Clayman leading the coaching team.
This year marks an exciting milestone as it will be our first season playing contact rugby. As a result, it is a genuine clean slate for everyone involved. Whether your child is joining rugby for the first time or progressing from previous age groups, all players will be learning, developing and growing together as we begin this new chapter.
We welcome boys and girls of all abilities and experience levels, and pride ourselves on creating a fun, inclusive and supportive environment where every child can develop confidence, skills and a love for the game. New players are always welcome, and we offer the first two taster sessions free of charge.
As a club, we follow the RFU’s TREDS values, ensuring that every player develops in an environment that puts the child first. Our focus is on Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship, helping young players build not only rugby skills but also confidence, friendships and a lifelong enjoyment of sport.
Our season runs from early September through to the end of April, and we train on Sunday mornings from 09:15 to 10:30 on the 3rd pitch (next to the padel courts and new car park).
In addition to weekly training, we take part in mini rugby festivals across Sussex and Surrey, giving players the opportunity to develop their skills, represent the club and enjoy being part of the wider rugby community throughout the season.
We look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces to the Vikings for what promises to be an exciting first season of contact rugby.
